Privacy Policy.

What we publish, what we collect, and how to get something taken down. Written to be read, not to be skimmed past.

The short version

Vault is a gymnastics site. You can read all of it without an account, because there is nothing to log into.

We publish meet results using an athlete's first name and last initial only. Never a full last name, a birth date, or an exact age.
We collect an email address when you ask us for something: a newsletter, camp alerts, a reply from our team, or a meet page claim.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not run advertising on the site.
If you are a parent, an athlete, or a coach and you want a result corrected or taken down, email privacy@vaultgymnastics.com and we will handle it.

Athlete names, scores, and results

This is the part of the policy that matters most, so it goes first.

Vault publishes competition results for gymnastics meets. Those results come from meet hosts, host clubs, and the scoring providers that publish them publicly, along with meet schedules published by sanctioning bodies and host gyms. We do not receive them from athletes or families, and we never ask an athlete to sign up.

Most competitive gymnasts are minors, so we deliberately publish less than our sources do. Across the whole site, an athlete appears as:

First name and last initial, for example "Emma L."
Club or team name
Competition level and, where the meet lists one, the session and age division
Event scores, all-around score, and placement

We do not publish full last names, dates of birth, exact ages, home addresses, schools, phone numbers, or email addresses for any athlete. We do not build athlete profiles, we do not use athlete data for advertising, and we do not sell it.

Results pages are public, so search engines can index them. The partial name, club, level, and score above can therefore appear in search results and in the structured data we hand to search engines.

Requesting a correction or a removal. Email privacy@vaultgymnastics.com with the meet name, the date, the club, and the name as it appears on the page. A parent or guardian can make this request on an athlete's behalf, and we do not require proof of anything. We will correct or remove the entry from Vault. We cannot change the original source, so if a result is also wrong at the meet host or the scoring provider, it is worth writing to them too. After we remove a page, search engines can take a while to drop it from their own caches.

Information you give us

We only collect what a form asks for. Depending on which form you use, that can include:

Newsletter signup: your email address.
Camp alerts: your email address and your ZIP code, which we use to tell you when a camp lands near you.
Contact and gym enquiry forms: your name, gym or business name, email address, an optional phone number, and whatever you write in the message field.
Meet page claims: your name, club, email address, phone number, your role at the meet, and any verification details you choose to send.
Gym valuation calculator: your email address, your business name, your ZIP code, and the operating figures you enter, such as revenue, wages, rent, other expenses, and owner salary.

The figures you enter into the valuation calculator are confidential business information and we treat them that way. They reach our team so we can send you the estimate and follow up. We do not publish them, we do not use them in public benchmarks, and we do not pass them to anyone outside Vault.

Please do not send us sensitive personal information through these forms. No field on the site needs it.

Information we collect automatically

Like any website, Vault receives some technical information when you visit:

Your IP address, which our hosting provider records and which we use to rate limit form submissions and block spam. We do not store it in a database.
An approximate time zone derived from your IP address by our hosting provider, so meet dates and start times render correctly on the first paint.
Standard request data such as browser type, device type, the page that referred you, and the pages you view.

When you submit a form, we check the domain of the email address you entered against a list of known disposable and non-delivering providers. That check looks at the domain, not at you.

Cookies and measurement

There are no accounts on Vault, so we set no login cookies and no advertising cookies of our own. We do use a small set of tools to understand how the site is doing:

Google Analytics, for aggregate traffic measurement.
Google Search Console, which reports how the site appears in search results.
Vercel, our hosting provider, for performance and traffic measurement.

These tools may set cookies or use similar browser storage to count visits and tell one session from another. We use them to measure and improve the site, not to build advertising profiles. There are no ad networks and no retargeting pixels on Vault.

Most browsers let you block or clear cookies, and extensions can block analytics outright. The site works normally either way. Where your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as an opt out request.

One more thing worth naming: our news page shows article thumbnails hosted by the publications themselves. Loading that page means your browser fetches those images directly from those publishers, which lets them see your IP address and browser, exactly as visiting their site would.

How we use information

To reply to you, and to send you the thing you asked for.
To send the newsletters and camp alerts you signed up for. Every one of those emails carries an unsubscribe link.
To verify meet page claims before we hand a page to a meet director.
To keep the site running, to stop spam and abuse, and to fix problems.
To understand, in aggregate, which parts of the site are useful.

We do not use your information to make automated decisions about you, and we do not sell it.

Children's privacy

Vault is written for parents, coaches, gym owners, and adult fans. It is not directed at children under 13 and neither are our forms. We do not knowingly collect an email address, a phone number, or any age information from a child.

Results are a separate matter and we would rather be direct about it: competitive gymnastics is a youth sport, so results published by meet hosts are largely about minors. We do not obtain that data from children, we publish less than the source does, and we remove any athlete on request.

If you believe a child has given us personal information through a form, email privacy@vaultgymnastics.com and we will delete it.

Your choices and your rights

Unsubscribe from any email using the link at the bottom of it.
Ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it.
Ask us to remove an athlete result, as described above.
Block cookies and analytics in your browser.

Depending on where you live, state privacy laws may give you formal versions of these rights. We apply them to everyone rather than checking your address first. Email privacy@vaultgymnastics.com and we will respond within 45 days. We will never treat you differently for asking.

How long we keep things

Form submissions arrive as email to our team and stay in that inbox while we are working with you and for a reasonable period afterwards. Newsletter subscriptions stay until you unsubscribe. Rate limiting data lives in memory for minutes and is never written to disk. Results stay published for as long as the meet is part of the historical record, unless someone asks us to remove an entry.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS, form submissions are rate limited and screened for spam, and access to our email and analytics tools is limited to the people who need it. No site can promise perfect security and we will not pretend otherwise, but if something happens that affects you, we will tell you promptly.

Changes to this policy

This is an early version and we expect to expand it as Vault grows. When we change it, we update the date at the top of this page. If a change materially affects how we handle information you have already given us, we will say so directly. This policy sits alongside our Terms of Use.
